Wake me up!!

OMG! you are not going to believe it.

As a cyclist and as cycling fan you dream of seeing the the big boys racing. The cool euros with power to spare and looking good while doing. Every year we watch the tour and try to explain our sport to the burger crowd. But the dream of someday seeing them is something all of us quietly ponder, just like a 16 year old, with cut out pictures from magazines that we can't read, of Eddy and Bernard.

Well today the cycling dream happened. I was at work at at firehouse, when my captain, who is also a cycling freak started yelling and screaming. I ran out to him, and he said the Rabobank, and Liuqigas team just rode by! Yeah right, did Santa and the easter bunny ride by on their TT bikes too? No really he said.

So we jumped in the fire enigne, after I grabbed my camera of course and we took off afteer them. About a quarter miloe away there they were! About 20 or so of them just crusing up the hill! Most prominent of all was the Rainbow jersey of Paulo Bettini. I could not beleive it! I was all giggly like a schoolgirl. There were riding right past our station. Finally after following them for a while we went past them a ways pasrked got out and waved to them, yelled some psuedo Italiano and while we were taking pictures of them they were taking pictures of us! I can't believe it. It was so funny, something you would never imagine in your wildest dreams. I will post the pics soon.
